« Four Held In Berg Butchery | Main | Democrats Target Janklow's Congressional Seat in SD »
I noticed yesterday that the hit counter finally tripped 250,000 visitors sometime in the afternoon -- and I wanted to thank everyone again who makes Captain's Quarters a regular read. When I started the blog less than eight months ago, I couldn't imagine that CQ would be reaching as many people as it does, and I count myself as incredibly fortunate to have as many regular readers and commenters as CQ does. Thinking about all of the friends I've made in the blogosphere reminded me that CQ hasn't passed around link-love in too long a time -- so, here's what's happening at the blogs that gave me a tremendous help along the way.
First, starting with my colleagues in the Northern Alliance: Hugh Hewitt wants to know why the Los Angeles Times keeps burying the lede when it comes to WMD, sarin and mustard gas. (Hugh has been tremendously gracious to me, and I can't thank him enough.) Big Trunk at Power Line notes that Dodger star Jose Lima delivered a beautiful rendition of the national anthem -- and includes a picture to demonstrate why Lima loves his adopted country. How 'bout them Dodgers, anyway? Mitch Berg takes a look at the WMD arguments from the Left and discovers (surprise!) inconsistency and incoherence. The guys at Fraters Libertas have a poll going, which closes soon, as to who has the fewest active brain cells in the US Senate. I'm telling you, it's a coin flip. Plus, JB Doubtless wonders how Steve McQueen looked when picking up his dry cleaning ... well, you have to read it to understand. King Banian at SCSU Scholars agrees with me about the cheap partisan shot that Minnesota Democrats took at Education Commissioner Cheri Pierson Yecke, and he's got pictures of the culprits. Eloise at Spitbull wants your help renaming Bill Clinton's memoirs. I'd suggest Close But No Cigar, which would describe both his affair with Lewinsky and his presidential legacy ...
Moving to some of my co-bloggers at other group blogs, take a look at Patterico's Pontifications, which regularly features great writing and a dry wit, and who also regularly holds the LA Times' feet to the fire. Patterico is one of the founders and co-bloggers at Oh, That Liberal Media, where I cross-post on media issues. On his own site, Patterico has a short list of indications of incompatibility, which I suspect may expand over the next few days. Over at OTLM, founder Stefan Scharansky keeps up the Seattle beat with an excellent slam on the Post-Intelligencer's coverage of the Brown decision. Over at Blogs for Bush, where I also cross-post, Paul discovers that John Kerry doesn't have much of a sense of humor. No, really!
Other blog-friends have gone way, way, way too long without a mention on this blog. Brant at the always-excellent Strange Women Lying in Ponds asks why we're not in a war mentality yet, and wonders what it will take. Bill at INDC Journal has pictures up from National Police Week and a funny story about protestors, as well as a not-funny-at-all story about cop killers and Cuban asylum. Venomous Kate from Electric Venom has an important post about honor killings and a book recommendation for you. Allah is on hiatus, unfortunately, but check out his archives for some of the funniest satirical blogging you'll find.
In my neighborhood, we can find DC at Brainstorming telling us that "escape is not an option," and has taken a few days off, so perhaps it's not a bad short-term strategy. Sean at Everything I Know Is Wrong provides us with an abundance of Kerryisms; in fact, he's got a whole category of them. Wanna see a body part of Fresh Bed Goodness? Well, it's not what you think. Steve Gigl, on the other hand (*snork*), is pissed. Jay Reding, downstate, has a great essay based on Michael Totten's article on the immorality of the anti-war position.
Finally, as we always do with the link-love, take a look at the Commissar over at Politburo Diktat, who believes that Atrios and Kos may have become casualties of the capitalist war. The Party demands that you investigate these disappearances, comrades!
Don't forget to keep an eye out for the excellent posts from my new partner, Whiskey, and thank you again for making Captain's Quarters one of your regular reads.
UPDATE: Holy cow, I completely forgot to send a little link-love to Robert Prather at Insults Unpunished, who wants to hit 500,000 visitors for his two-year anniversary. I'm sure you all know what to do ...

Surely the proletariat has wearied of these two reactionary bloggers. Captain Ed of Captain Quarter's reports 250,000 visitors. Now that Ed has misled more than a quarter million Bushites, perhaps he will rename blog for his next target, "Captain's Hal... [Read More]
