Notaí Beaga ón gCeardlann Gaeilgeoirí (Small Notes From The Irish-Language Workshop)

As you'll see by the time on this post, I'm getting back to my room at a pretty late hour -- and I discovered I'm buried in e-mail. I can read everything people send me, but for some really strange reason, I cannot send outbound e-mail. If you've sent me e-mail and haven't heard back, that's why. (Kenneth -- LOL!)

The Irish language workshop is terrific, the poitín is tremendous (Irish moonshine, and I ain't kidding), and the people are all having a blast. If you're curious about the Irish language, our organization's website is a good place to read a bit about it, and we have links to plenty of other resources. I have missed most of today's news, but I plan on posting a couple of items in the early morning tomorrow.

A couple of items to note tonight:

* Hugh Hewitt is celebrating 22 years of marriage and 4 years on the air this weekend. Give your congratulations to Hugh and the Fetching Mrs. Hewitt, and while you're at it, give mine as well (damned outbound e-mail!). You can express your sentiments more concretely by ordering Hugh's new book, and sooner rather than later.

* James in Sacramento informed me that the Bill Jones for Senate website can be found here. Do what you can to rid the Senate of Barbara Boxer. Let's consider her political career a "rail accident", and one not to be repeated.

* For those of you in the Twin Cities, don't forget that the Northern Alliance Radio Network continues in my absence at noon Saturday. We're testing some streaming and trying to resolve some legal issues so we can include everyone into our audience.

Keep checking back -- keep up the great work on the caption contest -- and have a terrific weekend.
