Doctors Without Scruples
The Telegraph reports that three radical Muslims conducted an Internet forum which issued threats against the US and UK -- and warned that doctors would form the next assault wave. The three, who have pled guilty to making terrorist threats on the Internet, warned that 45 doctors would attack Jacksonville strip clubs and naval harbors:
A group of 45 Muslim doctors threatened to use car bombs and rocket grenades in terrorist attacks in the United States during discussions on an extremist internet chat site. ...One message read: "We are 45 doctors and we are determined to undertake jihad and take the battle inside America.
"The first target which will be penetrated by nine brothers is the naval base which gives shelter to the ship Kennedy." This is thought to have been a reference to the USS John F Kennedy, which is often at Mayport Naval Base in Jacksonville, Florida.
The message discussed targets at the base, adding: "These are clubs for naked women which are opposite the First and Third units."
These messages started appearing in 2005, which the Telegraph waits until the end of the article to note. They don't have any direct connection to the attacks this week in Britain and Glasgow, at least none discovered so far. The revelations came from reports from their trial and sentencing, and the references to doctors immiediately raised eyebrows.
These three have connections to al-Qaeda in Iraq, according to the prosecution. That does provide an indirect link to the attacks this week, which British authorities say originated with AQI leader Abu Musab al-Zarqawi. The dead terrorist is believed to have initiated a recruitment drive for doctors in 2005 to take advantage of fast-track visa systems in the UK for physicians, an effort he began at around the same time that these three started posting jihadi messages on their Internet forums.
Some of this seems fanciful, however. The threat included using muscle cars to conduct attacks in Florida, certainly not outside of the realm of possibility but sounding a little like an adolescent fantasy. One of the defendants mused over winning the lottery and using the proceeds to become the next Osama bin Laden -- an odd fantasy for a radical Muslim, for whom gambling is forbidden.
Nevertheless, the three are expected to receive long prison sentences today. Not many will miss them nor mourn their incarceration. One can only hope that the purported 45 doctors take a lesson from this week's events and opt for more healthy pursuits.

On the lotto line: we must remember that to an islamist, they are free to do AYTHING they want, as long as it will help them get to the point of helping their Prophet. When dealing with non-believers, the Koran is clear that there are no scruples in getting to victory. Why do we still believe that they have our values, based on centuries of Christian faith?

The one thing these nitwits just can't bring themselves to do is to just SHUT UP!!!!
The chatter and the bragging and the constant flow of threats and group support and internal cheer leading are a veritable goldmine for counterintelligence. And especially the kind of high tech counterintelligence that Americans are very good at.
Like I've posted on previous threads, its the dog that doesn't bark that will get the job done. In a chatter rich environment, beware of the silent ones!

That these schemes sound like so much adolescent fantasy does not surprise me. The Islamist jihad rhetoric is riddled with pre-occupation with naked women. It exhibits too much repressed sexuality-- out of fear of the "power" that woman as temptress poses? Sharia law is particularly punitive toward women. The targets of the Tiger Tiger club in London were to be "decadent" civilian women.
Fundamentalists of Islam appear to focus on flexing macho muscle... unless, of course, they are fleeing capture by hiding in a burkha or chador.

Captain, do you think they might be mourned by, oh, the democrat party?

One thing we should consider (and let be widely known between Muslims) is to have women executioners in our prisons, such that the executed bastards wouldn't go to heaven.
But seriously, can anybody remind me why do we need Muslim doctors in our hospitals?

Just keep in mind that, if somebody had told us on 9-10-01 that a bunch of yahoos armed with box cutters would take over commercial airliners, crash them into buildings, and kill 3000 people, we'd have rolled our eyes.
I know liberals don't take these psychos seriously (as far as they're concerned, the real enemy is George Bush and, anyway, if the terrorists DO succeed in killing Americans, we deserve it), but we can't let our guard down or be lulled into a false sense of security just because some of the recent terrorists have been incompetent.

Don't know if they knew anything about medicine but judging by these doctors' knowledge of explosives I wouldn't let them near any relative of mine even if they were the last doctors on earth.

Just another set of shoe bombers this time with car trouble instead of match trouble.

If this report becomes widely known (a big IF), it may cause some of our Muslim MDs to become "moderate". Hit them in their pocketbooks by having patients avoid them. Sad to say, it won't happen; the USA is not producing enough home-grown MDs, and our medical schools now look like the UN. Please remind me again of the many virtues of diversity!

I work with a lot of Islamic docs. They could kill a lot more Americans by simply continuing to practice medicine in their normal manner,

I got this in an email today. Can anyone confirm the factual content???
"Probable U. S. presidential candidate, Barack Hussein Obama was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, to Barack Hussein Obama, Sr., a black Muslim from Nyangoma-Kogel, Kenya and Ann Dunham, a white
atheist from Wichita, Kansas. Obama's parents met at the University of Hawaii. When Obama was two years old, his parents divorced. His father
Returned to Kenya. His mother then married Lolo Soetoro, a radical Muslim From Indonesia. When Obama was 6 years old, the family relocated to Indonesia. Obama attended a Muslim school in Jakarta. He also spent two years in a Catholic school. Obama takes great care to conceal the fact that he is quick to point out that, "He was once a Muslim, but that he also attended Catholic School." Obama's political handlers are attempting to make it appear that Obama's introduction to Islam came via his father, and that this influence was temporary at best.In reality, the senior Obama returned to Kenya . Soon after the divorce, and never again had any direct influence over his son's education. Lolo Soetoro, the second husband of Obama's mother,
Ann Dunham, introduced his stepson to Islam. Obama was enrolled in a Wahabi school in Jakarta. Wahabism is the radical teaching that is
followed by the Muslim terrorists who are now waging Jihad against the western world. Since it is politically expedient to be a Christian when seeking Major public office in the United States, Barack Hussein Obama has joined the United Church of Christ in an attempt to ownplay his Muslim background. Let us all remain alert concerning Obama's expected presidential candidacy."

The avoidance theory works when we have a medical care system where we can choose our doctors. In a socialized medical system, you don't have a choice of doctors.
Welcome to the future in Hillary care and socialized medicine. If you are afraid of your doctor your choices are stay home and self medicate or take a chance and hope that the Dr. isn't planning to kill you

Don't believe the one about Dick Cheney having sex with the Devil on alternate Thursdays, either.

Just because we gullible television educated Americans have been indoctrinated to see doctors, lawyers, Hollywood and media propagandists as all knowing nurturers, is no reason to think our enemy will not use our weakness of elevating those positions to impose their war upon us. Politicians of today could not carry the Jocks of people who formed the constitution, nor do they represent the values my fathers generation fought WW2 with. American Idol sucks, and the sooner we show no shame for having defendable standards, is the day collateral damage will be inflicted by us, because that is all they respect. Or I guess we can continue to reject baseball and adopt the sport known as soccer, so we can show them we will change our values! Mom, Baseball and Apple Pie. Has turned into Michal Moore, Orange slices at halftime and International Appeasement crap-stew.

Well, it won't be for "lack of trying," but just how does Al's Kay Duh attempt to "wake their cell," when a lot of these doctors have "investments" that will make them scurry like cockroaches into hiding, huh?
Let me tell you, when the stakes get high enough, one of these "screamer docs" becomes an excellent informer on the others. And, with their degrees in medicine? They know it!
So, true. I expect as long as nothing appeared violent; these dudes kept up their religious planning.
But now?
You don't think the Feds aren't data-mining? To see who has a backyard barbecue, for instance that has enough explosives to work in a car bomb?
Again, the docs are "amateurs." Yeah. Just like the "pilots." But it's not exactly as these guys are trusted, ya know? You think one of them, dressed in scrubs, can just wave his stethoscope in front of ya? And, you'll bend over?
We're on a two way street, here.
True, one article UP, you'll see David Broder totally confused at the average man's reactions. He thinks, I suppose, that you're just awaiting his instructions? But that's hardly likely a realist's view, ya know?
Oh. I'm glad the "chat room" had 45. Because those 45 "others" ... even if they're streaming down the freeway, someone, while wearing scrubs; won't grab the attention of a few drivers. Then, add into this equation: How many have cell phones? How far can these dudes get on the roads so far from home?
I actually think you'll see flipping behaviors; where the worst of them will behave like trained seals, posturing for tasty fishes.
The other thing I do remember, now; is how we're told that "liquids" are gonna be used as a tool in an air attack. Hmm. Perhaps, they'll add semtex suppositories, too?
Or, more likely? They'll tell ya they're Christians.
We let the RUBBISH in. But it has been identified.

Local media here in Jacksonville is now following up on the story - disturbingly, neither the Navy, the Joint Terrorist Task Force, the FBI nor local law enforcement knew anything about the threats before being called by a local radio station.
Posted by daytrader | July 5, 2007 4:26 PM
Even more moronic about the whole premise , it is well known that the Kennedy has been stricken from the rolls of the Navy and been decommissioned and is headed for the scrap yard.
Sounds like a whole bunch of dim bulbs to me.

Just because these Islamists are incompetent fools, they may succeed just like a broken clock is right twice a day. Of course, Larry Johnson & Keith-O don't think there's a problem.

The logic of many of these comments lead eventually to closed borders: no immigrants, no visitors.
I'm curious if that that is your goal?

A bit off topic here but this is the only thread applicable at the moment. But I need to vent my frustration with what appears the "Domino Effect" occuring in the U.S. Senate among Republicans who have decided to lose all their spine and start waving the Harry Reid Surrender Flag.
Senator Pete Domenici (R-NM) is the latest to call the surge a failure and ask for new action. I believe this makes 3 Repub Senators in 3 weeks to wimp out. And obviously it's upsetting because it will embolden Harry "ICan'tWaitToEmbarassTheU.S." Reid to send thru his Retreat Bill in July and get is through the House BEFORE Petraeus even reports back.
Apparently these Senators are not following the daily ops of Operation Arrowhead Ripper and missed the big drop in Iraqi civilian casualties in June. Apparently these Republican senators haven't watch the new closely enough during Arrowhead Ripper to notice the severe drop in major bombings in Baghdad since Al Qaeda has the Marines on their tales as they head North.
What horrible timing. I wish, oh how I wish I was from Domenici's state of New Mexico or Lugar's state of Indiana - i'd be camped outside their office with every *(E*#@(#$ in the book.

I would say the jury is still out on the effectiveness of current efforts. Here's the WaPo:
"During the month of June, 453 unidentified corpses, some bound, blindfolded, and bearing signs of torture, were found in Baghdad...
In January, 321 corpses were discovered in the capital, a total that fell steadily until April but then rose sharply over the last two months....
Overall, the level of violent civilian deaths in Iraq is declining, according to the U.S. military and Health Ministry statistics...."
